Exeter, Devon, England

At her ranch in Arizona, my great grandmother makes coffee in a percolator. Many a morning have I awakened there to the sound and aroma of coffee perking. It is a very agreeable experience. Mornings are not the best time of day for me; I usually feel terrible upon first awakening. My whole body aches and my head hurts. No matter how long I have slept, I still crave more sleep. But the prospect of coffee makes climbing out of bed a little more endurable. My own little single-cup coffeemaker, on the other handthe one I rely on here in Englandsounds exactly like someone's peeing.
