Most internet sites these days where one can post reviews of books and/or movies employ a five-star rating system. Nor do these sites allow a reviewer to award zero stars; the minimum is one. Therefore, 1 star means "I hate this book." For two reasons, I rarely post negative reviews. The Value of Reading Fiction

In reading a book, I inevitably identify so totally with the main character that I can honestly claim to have lived other lives than just my own. Nor must those characters whose lives I so vividly experience be of my own gender, age, or race. In a fictional universe conjured for me by a skilled story-teller, I am as often male as I am female. Fanny Whitecrow My full name is Madeleine Estefania Whitecrow Ashe. I am the niece of Trudy Silverheels, founder of this trading post. To readers of historical fiction, I am known as M W Ashe.
Past managers of this trading post, besides Aunt Bootsy (Trudy Silverheels), are my mother (Miranda Whitecrow), Xiomara Antonia Roma, and Beatrice Garza Johnson. I thank them all for keeping this enterprise operational until I became of age to run it myself.
